Against the backdrop of rapidly growing interest in cryptocurrency investments, the market is paying close attention to this decision.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced this week that it is delaying its consideration of allowing spot Bitcoin ETF options to be listed on exchanges until the end of April.

The SEC stated in the filing that in order to fully consider the proposed rule changes, the Commission considered it necessary to extend the review period.

Against the backdrop of a sharp rise in interest in cryptocurrency investment, particularly after iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) asset management reached a record high of over $10 billion, the market is paying close attention to this decision.

At the beginning of this year, with the SEC's approval of 10 new spot Bitcoin products, exchanges began applying for options on listed Bitcoin funds.

CBOE said in a statement in January that although it can usually list options three days after listing on a new exchange-traded product, it must obtain special permission from the SEC for commodity products such as Bitcoin.

Analysts believe that the introduction of bullish and bearish options in Bitcoin ETFs can be an effective tool for investors to hedge against the inherent volatility of cryptocurrencies. This not only helps with price discovery, but also provides investors with more choices to achieve desired investment results in changing market conditions.

Meanwhile, the SEC is also evaluating fund proposals for Ethereum.

On Friday, Bitcoin broke through the $70,000 mark for the first time in the intraday period, but then quickly fell back to the $68,000 line. Ethereum broke the $4,000 mark for the first time in two years.
