Gelonghui, Feb. 28 | Global Entertainment Culture (01046.HK) announced that for the six-month period ended 31 December 2023, the Group recorded revenue of approximately HK$296.4 million (previous period: approximately HK$36.3 million) and profit of approximately HK$52,000 (previous period: loss of approximately HK$28.0 million).
The Group's performance for the current period improved compared to the previous period, mainly due to: (i) the significant increase in revenue and contributions from the video distribution, film distribution and screening, grant and transfer of film copyright business segments during the period. During this period, as the impact of the novel coronavirus epidemic in China and Hong Kong gradually subsided, the Group's new film screening revenue during the period increased significantly compared to the previous period; and (ii) during the period, due to the appreciation of the RMB, the Group recorded exchange earnings of about HK$2.9 million during the period, while the Group recorded an exchange loss of about HK$6.3 million in the previous period.
