According to the Zhitong Finance App, Rice Bug Yuanuniverse (08645) announced interim results for the six months ended December 31, 2023, with revenue of approximately HK$506.74 million, a year-on-year decrease of 23.9%; loss attributable to the company's equity holders was HK$11.024 million, profit attributable to HK$17.375 million for the same period in 2022; loss per share was approximately HK$1.84.
According to the announcement, the profit conversion to loss was mainly due to a decrease in revenue and gross margin, mainly due to the suspension of paid membership plans for e-commerce businesses; and an increase in sales expenses (mainly due to the Group's expansion of business in China).
