Recently, IDC released the China Tablet Quarterly Tracking Report for the fourth quarter of 2023. The data shows that in the fourth quarter of 2023, China's tablet market shipped about 8.17 million units, down about 5.7% year on year. Among them, the consumer market fell 7.3% year on year, and the commercial market increased 13.8% year on year.

The Zhitong Finance App learned that recently, IDC released the China Tablet Quarterly Tracking Report for the fourth quarter of 2023. The data shows that in the fourth quarter of 2023, the Chinese tablet market shipped about 8.17 million units, down about 5.7% year on year. Among them, the consumer market fell 7.3% year on year, and the commercial market increased 13.8% year on year. Meanwhile, in the fourth quarter of 2023, Huawei surpassed Apple to become the number one seller in the Chinese tablet market. This is the first time since 2010 that the TOP1 brand has changed in the quarterly sales volume of tablets in China.

Shipments in the Chinese tablet market for the full year of 2023 fell 4.5% from last year, and are still undergoing an adjustment cycle after a continuous rise.

IDC believes that China's tablet industry is developing well, benefiting from the positive influence of internal and external factors. Whether in terms of changes in market participants or product shipments, it is different from the industry development situation during the pandemic last year. Tablets are leaving the home to become one of the personal mobile computing terminals. This is mainly due to changes in social lifestyle and internal technical factors such as mobile Internet multimedia technology, terminal platform capabilities, screen technology, and high-performance storage.

Gan Miao, senior research manager at IDC China, said that in 2023, the overall performance of the Chinese tablet market was in line with market expectations, and the year-on-year decline in the fourth quarter and the whole year reached about 5.7% and 4.5%, respectively. Having gone through a stage of cost-effective development in 2023, it is foreseeable that 2024 will be a year for mainstream brands to pay more attention to user experience and brand sustainability. How tablet brands can better help companies achieve sustainable development will be an important topic for the industry. At the same time, while high-quality products meet the higher needs of users, they will also bring more healthy net profit contributions to the enterprise.
