Simply Wall St ·  Feb 20 17:27

Envision Greenwise Holdings Limited (HKG:1783) insiders who purchased shares in the last 12 months were richly rewarded last week. The stock climbed by 20% resulting in a HK$527m addition to the company's market value. Put another way, the original HK$41.5m acquisition is now worth HK$259.1m.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Envision Greenwise Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Executive Chairman Chun Sing Kwok bought HK$41m worth of shares at a price of HK$0.40 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of HK$2.50. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.
