Singapore Shares End in Green; Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust Climbs 4% as Fiscal Q1 Portfolio Occupancy Reaches 95.8%

Singapore's Straits Times Index opened lower on Wednesday but rebounded later to end the session marginally in green, following a muted performance of global equities.

During the day, the benchmark index ranged between 3,141.75 and 3,162.41, ending 0.09% or 2.97 points higher at 3,153.01.

In economic news, Singapore's unemployment rate was unchanged at 2.0% in December 2023, preliminary data released by the Ministry of Manpower on Wednesday showed.

Meanwhile, Business expectations among firms in Singapore's services sector for the first half of 2024 remained positive, with 5% of the firms expecting more favorable business outlook during the period.

In company news, Frasers Logistics & Commercial Trust (SGX:BUOU) registered a stable portfolio occupancy of 95.8% in fiscal first quarter ended Dec. 31, 2023, sending the company's shares up nearly 4% at market close.

AIMS APAC REIT (SGX:O5RU) closed nearly 2% higher on Wednesday, even as the trust posted a distribution per unit of SG$0.0699 in the nine months ended Dec. 31, 2023, down 4.1% from SG$0.0729 in the year-ago period.

Guocoland's (SGX:F17) shares ended Wednesday's session flat, as its attributable profit increased 12% to SG$66.2 million, or SG$0.0511 per share, in the fiscal first half, from SG$59 million, or SG$0.0446 per share, in the year-ago period.
