In 2023, the industrial value added of textile enterprises above scale decreased by 1.2% year on year, revenue was 470.9 billion yuan, down 0.8% year on year; total profit was 18.2 billion yuan, up 7.2% year on year. The yarn, cloth and garment production of enterprises above scale decreased by 2.2%, 4.8%, and 8.7%, respectively, and chemical fiber production increased 10.3% year on year.
The total retail sales of consumer goods per unit above the national limit was 17856.3 billion yuan, up 6.5% year on year. Among them, retail sales of clothing, shoes, hats, knitwear products per unit above the limit increased 12.9% year on year, and retail sales of physical goods online clothing increased 10.8% year on year.
In 2023, China's textile and garment exports totaled US$293.6 billion, down 8.1% year on year. Among them, exports in December were US$25.3 billion, up 2.6% year on year, and resumed positive growth in a single month.
