Singapore's Straits Times Index rebounded from yesterday's poor showing on Wednesday, after global equities closed mixed overnight.
During the day, the benchmark index ranged between 3,126.29 and 3,153.56, ending 0.58% or 18.08 points higher at 3,153.33.
In corporate news, Sembcorp Industries (SGX:U96), via its unit Green Infra Wind Energy, clinched a 450-megawatt wind-solar hybrid power project from Solar Energy Corporation of India, sending the company's shares up nearly 2% at market close.
Suntec Real Estate Investment Trust (SGX:T82U) closed nearly 3% higher on Wednesday, even as the trust declared a distribution per unit of SG$0.03659 in the second half of 2023, down 10.2% from SG$0.04074 a year earlier.
GHY Culture & Media (SGX:XJB) said its soccer tournament in China has been canceled, amidst the injury of Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, sending the company's shares down more than 1% at market close.
