Gelonghui, January 2 | Broadcast Data (00471.HK) announced that together with local partner SCT, a memorandum of understanding agreement has been signed with two Philippine government disciplinary forces agencies. According to the agreement, the company will provide: 1) community broadband internet construction based on satellite and terrestrial integration, and 2) a national government emergency broadcast and disaster warning system based on high-orbit L-band satellite direct connection to terrestrial terminals.
After successfully completing the proof of concept, the company is expected to be able to sign long-term commercial agreements with relevant government agencies to procure technical solutions co-ordinated and provided by the company, including software, hardware, service support, and network engineering, to provide services to these government agencies at thousands of locations across the country.
The proof of concept provided the company with a good opportunity to enter the ASEAN market, enabling the company to become an important partner in the Philippine national digital plan, coordinate the development of modern network facilities in the Philippines, and quickly enter the digital economy era. The Philippines is one of the largest and fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia, with a population of around 120 million and more than 8,000 islands.
