According to a previous press release from the HKSAR Government, the Immigration Department expects approximately 9.03 million visitors (including Hong Kong residents and visitors) to enter and leave Hong Kong during the Christmas and New Year holidays this year (i.e. December 22 to December 26, 2023 and December 29 to January 1, 2024). Among them, about 83.5% of visitors, or about 7.54 million passengers, will enter and leave Hong Kong through various land border control points.
