Possible Bearish Signals With Formula One Group Insiders Disposing Stock

Simply Wall St ·  Dec 13, 2023 06:35

The fact that multiple Formula One Group (NASDAQ:FWON.K) insiders offloaded a considerable amount of shares over the past year could have raised some eyebrows amongst investors. When evaluating insider transactions, knowing whether insiders are buying versus if they selling is usually more beneficial, as the latter can be open to many interpretations. However, if numerous insiders are selling, shareholders should investigate more.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Formula One Group

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the insider, John Malone, for US$30m worth of shares, at about US$75.53 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is US$63.52. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels.
