This XD Insider Reduced Their Stake By 20%

Simply Wall St ·  Dec 3, 2023 19:28

From what we can see, insiders were net sellers in XD Inc.'s (HKG:2400 ) during the past 12 months. That is, insiders sold the stock in greater numbers than they purchased it.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

XD Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The Founder, Yunjie Dai, made the biggest insider sale in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for HK$324m worth of shares at a price of HK$24.00 each. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. The good news is that this large sale was at well above current price of HK$13.34. So it is hard to draw any strong conclusion from it. Yunjie Dai was the only individual insider to sell over the last year.

Insider Ownership

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. XD insiders own about HK$2.9b worth of shares (which is 46% of the company). I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.

What Might The Insider Transactions At XD Tell Us?

The fact that there have been no XD insider transactions recently certainly doesn't bother us. It's great to see high levels of insider ownership, but looking back over the last year, we don't gain confidence from the XD insiders selling. If you are like me, you may want to think about whether this company will grow or shrink. Luckily, you can check this free report showing analyst forecasts for its future.

Of course XD may not be the best stock to buy. So you may wish to see this free collection of high quality companies.
