In the third quarter of 2023, global shipments of smart wearable wristband devices reached 51 million units, an increase of 4% over the previous year.

The Zhitong Finance app learned that the latest data released by Canalys shows that in the third quarter of 2023, global shipments of smart wearable wristband devices reached 51 million units, an increase of 4% over the previous year. The impressive performance of basic watches in the Indian market continued to provide momentum for growth this quarter. Driven by this market, global basic watch shipments in the third quarter increased 20% year over year, making it the only segment that achieved year-on-year growth.

According to the data, Apple firmly took the lead with a 17% share, but poor demand in mature markets and delays in the release of new products from last year led to a 12% year-on-year decline in shipments. The recovery of Huawei's mobile phone business has further strengthened its ecosystem, driving shipments of its wearable wristband devices, with a year-on-year increase of 45%, ranking third. Samsung returned to fourth place with the new Galaxy Watch 6 product iteration, and its market share rebounded to 8%. The fifth place was occupied by the Indian manufacturer Fire Boltt, which gained 7% of the market share through the rapid growth of the Indian market.
