According to the Zhitong Finance App, New Century Group (00234) announced interim results for the six months ended September 30, 2023, with revenue of HK$43.772 million, an increase of 50.84% over the previous year; profit attributable to company owners was HK$25.63 million, compared to a loss of HK$8.625 million in the same period last year; basic profit per share was HK0.44 cents.
According to reports, the increase in revenue was mainly due to an increase in interest income earned from the money lending business of HK$1,434 million to HK$35.972 million and a sharp decrease in fair value losses confirmed on listed equity investments from HK$18.332 million to HK$247,000, but part of the increase in revenue was offset by a decrease of HK$5.176,000 to HK$131,000 in dividend income received from listed equity investments.
