In October 2023, China's Transportation Production Index (CTSI) was 182.7 points, up 28.1% year on year.

The Zhitong Finance App learned that the China Transportation Production Index (CTSI) released by the Ministry of Transport's Research Institute on November 15 showed that transportation production continued to recover steadily in October. In October 2023, China's Transportation Production Index (CTSI) was 182.7 points, up 28.1% year on year. By structure, the CTSI freight index was 213.1 points, up 11.2% year on year; CTSI passenger transport index was 116.3 points, up 138.2% year on year.

Zhou Jian, deputy director of the Information Center of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, believes that transportation production continued to recover steadily in October. The CTSI index increased 28.1% year on year, and the growth rate was 7.2 percentage points faster than in September. After excluding the impact of the low base for the same period of the year, the average growth rate for two years was 5.7%, and it continues to be in a relatively rapid growth range. Looking at the structure, the CTSI freight index in October increased 11.2% year on year, 3.0 percentage points faster than September, and maintained a relatively rapid growth level of more than 8% for 3 consecutive months. The freight index continued its good development trend. Driven by strong public travel demand during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the CTSI passenger transport index recovered further and continued to grow year-on-year and month-on-month, with significant year-on-year growth due to the low base for the same period last year.

The China Transport Production Index (CTSI) is a weighted synthesis of indicators based on passenger and freight volume of railways, highways, waterways, and civil aviation to comprehensively reflect the overall operation of the transportation industry. The index consists of a composite index and two sub-indices of passenger traffic and freight.
