Gelonghui November 9th 丨New Century Group (00234.HK) announced that for the six months ending September 30, 2023, the Group expects to record a profit range of about HK$23 million to about HK$27 million attributable to company owners during this period. Compared with the same period last year, it recorded a loss of about HK$9 million attributable to company owners.
The transformation of expected performance from loss to profit is mainly due to the following factors: (i) profit from the sale of the discontinued cruise leasing service business of approximately HK$10 million; (ii) loss reduction of approximately HK$11 million from the discontinuation of the cruise leasing service business; (iii) loss reduction of about HK$13 million in securities trading business; (iv) an increase in fair value earnings from invested properties by approximately HK$6 million; and (v) an increase in bank interest income of approximately HK$6 million.
