Zhang Peng pointed out that in the first three quarters, as China's economy continued to improve and the supply and demand potential of the cultural market was unleashed at an accelerated pace, various cultural industry policies showed strength, and enterprises in the core cultural sector, the new cultural business format industry, and cultural service industry all showed rapid growth, and the recovery and positive development trend of the cultural industry was further consolidated and strengthened. Cultural enterprises above the scale achieved operating income exceeding 9 trillion yuan, and the driving role of the core field of culture is obvious. In the first three quarters, cultural and related industry enterprises above the national scale (hereinafter referred to as “cultural enterprises”) achieved operating income of 9161.9 billion yuan, an increase of 7.7% over the previous year, and 0.4 percentage points faster than in the first half of the year. By sector, the core cultural sector achieved revenue of 5950.7 billion yuan, an increase of 12.4% over the previous year, continuing double-digit growth in the first half of the year; the share of revenue of cultural enterprises above scale was 65.0%, up 2.8 percentage points from the same period last year.

In the first three quarters, as China's economy continued to improve, the supply and demand potential of the cultural market was released at an accelerated pace, and various policies in the cultural industry showed strength. The core cultural sector, the new cultural business format industry, and cultural service enterprises all showed relatively rapid growth, and the recovery and positive development trend of the cultural industry was further consolidated and strengthened.

Cultural enterprises above the scale achieved operating income exceeding 9 trillion yuan, and the driving role of the core field of culture is obvious. In the first three quarters, cultural and related industry enterprises above the national scale (hereinafter referred to as “cultural enterprises”) achieved operating income of 9161.9 billion yuan, an increase of 7.7% over the previous year, and 0.4 percentage points faster than in the first half of the year. By sector, the core cultural sector achieved revenue of 5950.7 billion yuan, an increase of 12.4% over the previous year, continuing double-digit growth in the first half of the year; the share of revenue of cultural enterprises above scale was 65.0%, up 2.8 percentage points from the same period last year. In the core field of culture, the cultural, entertainment and leisure service industry, which mainly focuses on contact and cluster services, is clearly recovering, achieving a year-on-year increase of 67.2% in revenue (a decrease of 14.1% in the same period last year, a two-year average [1] increase of 19.9%); the four major cultural industry categories of cultural investment and operation, news and information services, cultural communication channels, and content creation and production grew rapidly year-on-year, with growth rates of 27.7%, 14.9%, 12.4% and 10.3%, respectively.

The scale of the new cultural business format industry continues to grow, and its share of operating income continues to rise. In the first three quarters, 16 industry subcategories with obvious characteristics of the new cultural business format achieved operating income of 3687 billion yuan, an increase of 15.2% over the previous year, 7.5 percentage points faster than cultural enterprises of all sizes, and 0.2 percentage points faster than the first half of the year. The revenue of the new cultural business format industry accounted for 40.2% of the revenue of cultural enterprises above all sizes, accounting for 2.6 percentage points higher than the same period last year; the contribution rate to the revenue growth of cultural enterprises of all sizes and above was 74.3%. Among them, revenue growth in the five subcategories of wearable smart cultural equipment manufacturing, digital publishing, Internet search services, Internet culture and entertainment platforms, multimedia game animation, and digital publishing software development was rapid, respectively, at 25.1%, 22.7%, 19.5%, 19.0%, and 18.9%.

The cultural service industry has maintained relatively rapid growth, and the cultural wholesale and retail industry, and the cultural manufacturing industry have all shown positive changes. In the first three quarters, the cultural service industry achieved revenue of 475.88 billion yuan, an increase of 14.6% over the previous year. The growth rate was significantly faster than the overall level of service enterprises above scale. The revenue of the cultural service industry accounted for 51.9% of the revenue of cultural enterprises above scale, up 3.1 percentage points from the same period last year. The cultural wholesale and retail industry achieved a 5.3% year-on-year increase in revenue, 0.5 percentage points faster than in the first half of the year. The cultural manufacturing industry achieved a 1.0% year-on-year decline in revenue, and the decline was 1.1 percentage points narrower than in the first half of the year. Among them, the cultural manufacturing industry achieved a 1.1% year-on-year increase in revenue in the third quarter.

The total profit of cultural enterprises has increased rapidly, and the level of efficiency has been steadily increasing. The total profit of cultural enterprises above scale in the first three quarters was 75.8 billion yuan, an increase of 31.4% over the previous year due to factors such as the low base for the same period last year and the rapid recovery of operations of enterprises in the cultural service industry. Looking at the two-year average, the two-year average growth rate for the first three quarters was 10.1%. Looking at the industry category, Internet information services, digital content services, scenic tour services, and Internet cultural and entertainment platforms have an obvious role in driving profits. In the first three quarters, the profit margin on operating income of large-scale cultural enterprises was 8.20%, up 1.48 percentage points from the previous year and 0.14 percentage points from the first half of the year.
