Danakali Ltd. said Monday that the second tranche of the equity funding from Africa Finance Corp. agreed on in December 2019 won't be completed according to schedule as the required conditions won't be satisfied in time.

"The board of Danakali now considers it unlikely that all such conditions precedent will be satisfied prior to the deadline of Nov. 21," the Australian mining company said.

The second tranche of the investment amounts to $28.5 million and forms part of the $50.0 million funding deal Danakali signed with Africa Finance, a pan-African financial institution, to fund construction of Danakali's Colluli potash project in Eritrea.

Africa Finance is Danakali's largest shareholder.
