Fujigao Industries (00927) announced that on August 8, 2023, Fujigo Industrial Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, received a letter from a customer of the Group about the quality of an audio headset. The quality problem is said to be caused by a flaw in a rechargeable battery supplied by a reputable overseas supplier of only the batteries used in the audio headphones. The total amount of claims contained in the letter as at 31 July 2023 is approximately $3.6 million.
On September 21, 2023, the Group sent a letter to the supplier to claim the claimed amount. In addition, on September 21, 2023, the customer, the supplier and the Group held a tripartite meeting at which it was agreed, among other things, that the supplier would take the lead in resolving the issue; and that the customer and the Group would provide support to the supplier to provide the necessary information related to quality issues to speed up the settlement process.
