The Zhitong Finance App learned that on September 13, Sensor Tower published an article detailing the changes in the revenue and download volume rankings of Chinese mobile game products in overseas markets in August 2023. Sensor Tower pointed out that with the launch of the new Kajikkafka, Miha Tour's “Collapse: Star Dome Railroad” reached a new high in the world's single-day turnover on August 9. At the same time, thanks to the release of the 1.3 version of “Sky Mirror: Raging the Dust” at the end of August, the game's overseas revenue increased 23% month-on-month in August, returning to the top of the overseas mobile game revenue list and growth list. Among them, revenue from the Japanese and US markets increased by 32% and 20%, respectively.

“Whiteout Survival”, a mobile game with an ice and snow apocalyptic theme under Diandian Interactive, continues its strong growth momentum since it went on sale in February this year. Overseas revenue increased again by 26% in August, rising 1 place to 5th place in the revenue list, and moving to 2nd place in the growth list. The North American market accounted for 36% of revenue in the current period, and revenue increased by more than 40%, which is higher than the overall level.

Since July, the action shooter mobile game “Shotshell Force” (Survivor!. io) has returned to an upward channel. Overseas revenue rose 23% in August, and the ranking rose 5 places to 10th place in the revenue list.

This month, overseas revenue surged 111% month-on-month, reaching the highest value in nearly 2 years, and returned to 15th place in the revenue list, ranking 3rd in the growth list.

“Watcher of Realms”, a next-generation magical RPG mobile game from Mu Tong Technology, grew significantly overseas. Revenue increased 78% month-on-month. For the first time, it was shortlisted 27th in the revenue list and ranked 6th in the growth list. The US and Europe are the game's biggest markets, contributing 48% and 37% of total overseas revenue in August, respectively.

On August 16, Yuxing Online's two-dimensional mahjong mobile game “Quake Soul” launched the “Cat's Hand” summer limited-time event in the Japanese market. With the launch of the new exclusive Jakuji Dongcheng Xuanyin and new accessories, the game's single-day turnover surged. In August, revenue increased 255% month-on-month, and advanced to 5th place in the growth list.

On August 22, the horizontal action shooter “Metal Slug: Awakening”, licensed by SNK and developed by Tencent Tianmei Studios, officially landed in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau markets. With reproductions of the original's classics and experiments with various innovative gameplay, the game topped the Android mobile game download list in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao on the first day of launch, becoming the most downloaded mobile game in Southeast Asia. For the first time, it was ranked 8th in the growth list and 3rd in the download list.

On August 7, Xindong Network launched a new pixel-style authentic chess game “The Sword of Suzuran: For a Peaceful World” in the Chinese markets of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Thanks to classic strategy chess gameplay and a novel medieval story, the game topped the iPhone mobile game download list in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao in China on the first day of launch, and successfully ranked 9th in the growth list.

On August 7, Mad Head's puzzle-solving RPG mobile game “Tower of Ghosts and Demons” launched the “Sword Art Online” cooperative event “Shining the Starburst”. The launch of new characters boosted the popularity of the game in the Chinese, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau markets. Overseas revenue increased 228% month-on-month in August, ranking 10th in the growth list.

In early August, Tianyou Network launched the Xianxia MMORPG mobile game “Reincarnation” in the Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau markets in China. With beautiful ancient scenes and character designs, diverse gameplay, local celebrity endorsements, and massive benefits, the game's revenue rose rapidly in the local market, and ranked 11th in the growth list.

In early August, OmniDream's Valkyrie-themed casual strategy RPG mobile game officially launched in overseas markets. The exquisite character design, team play, and roguelike maze, and PvP combat elements attracted overseas players for the first time. For the first time, it was ranked 12th in the growth list.

Thanks to updates to the Circle Declassified sub-game, the launch of various new events, and the release of popular materials, the mobile game “Dragonscapes Adventure”, a simulated mobile game owned by Diandian Interactive, increased nearly 50% month-on-month in August, making it ranked 13th in the growth list for the first time.

Also due to the addition of the Declassified Circle subgame and the release of related materials, the gaming laboratory's synthetic mobile game “Mergeland-Alice's Adventure” surged 149% and 902% respectively in August, making it ranked 17th in the growth list and 30th in the download list.

Also on the list for the first time were Xinghui Entertainment's “Maple Valley R: A New Definition of Classics” and the pony game “Taiwu Fengshen List”.

August Overseas Mobile Game Download List

In August, “PUBG Mobile” was downloaded more than 11.5 million times from overseas, ranking first in the overseas mobile game download list.

The mobile music game “Magic Piano Tiles: Music Game” from XGAME STUDIO maintained the download level of last month, ranking runner-up in the August mobile game download list. At the same time, the number of overseas downloads of the publisher's mobile music game “Beat Racing: Music &; Beat Game” and the ultra-light casual mobile game “Antistress Relaxed Toy Game” increased by 82% and 175%, respectively. BabyBus Group's 4 mobile games, “Little Panda's Ice Cream Game,” “Baby Panda's School Bus,” “Little Panda: Princess Makeup,” and “Little Panda: Sweet Bakery”, and “Little Panda: Sweet Bakery” were shortlisted in the top 30 downloads of this issue.
