Alara Resources (AUQ) and its joint venture company, AI Hadeetha Resources, have reported significant progress on the construction of a one-million-tonne-per-annum (MTPA) copper concentrate plant at the Al Wash-hi Majaza copper-gold project in Oman.

The company remains on track with mechanical construction now 90 per cent complete, while the pre-commissioning electric equipment has reached 85 per cent completion.

Key components of the copper concentrate production unit, such as the reagent handling facility, have reached 89 per cent completion, and the primary crusher and concentrate dewatering are 80 per cent complete.

Other processes, such as stockpile and reclaim, as well as grinding and classification, the company reported, are progressing rapidly.

“The project delivery teams have demonstrated unwavering commitment and perseverance toward achieving the goal of bringing this mine to production status,” AUQ Managing Director Atmavireshwar Sthapak said.

“As we move forward, we remain dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality on site.”

The full plant commissioning and commencement of production at the plant are following the plan and will be ready for the upcoming quarter.

AUQ shares last traded at 3.8 cents.
