Zitong Financial App News, Regal Hotels (00078) reported interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2023, with income of HK $776 million, down 25.3% from a year earlier; loss of HK $763 million for holders of shares in the parent company, compared with a profit of HK $138 million for the same period last year; loss per share of HK91.23 cents.
The loss during the period under review was mainly attributable to the substantial increase in financing costs as a result of the sharp rise in interest rates in Hong Kong, China, the fair value loss on the Group's financial assets and depreciation charges on the Group's hotel properties.
