Gelonghui August 22?China Aluminum can (06898.HK) noticeRevenue from the sale of aluminium aerosol cans for the six months ended June 30, 2023 was approximately HK $125 million. The group's earnings for the six months ended June 30, 2023 increased by about 10.5% from a year earlier. The increase in revenue was mainly due to the relaxation of the control measures on the COVID-19 epidemic in the people's Republic of China and the improvement in the overall business environment, which led to the increase in sales of aerosol cans.The group's net profit was about HK $17.5 million, an increase of about 31.2% over the same period last year. The net interest rate for the six months ended June 30, 2023 was about 14.0% (six months ended June 30, 2022: about 11.8%).
The increase in net profit was mainly due to the net impact of: (I) relaxation of control measures on the COVID-19 epidemic in China, improvement in the overall business environment led to an increase in sales of aerosol cans; (ii) lower cost of major raw materials and higher gross profit margin; and (iii) implementation of strict cost control measures to reduce general overhead.
