Zhitong Financial APP News, Jinli Group (03919) released its interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2023. The group achieved a profit of HK $124 million, down 24.54% from the same period last year; the loss attributable to the owners of the company was HK $10.275 million, an increase of 56.77% over the same period last year; and a loss of HK2.41 cents per share.
The announcement said that the loss for the period was due to the devaluation of the renminbi against the Hong Kong dollar, resulting in exchange losses during the period because the group's reported currency was Hong Kong dollars and a large portion of the group's assets were denominated in renminbi.
