Gelonghui July 27?CEC International (00759.HK) reported that for the year ended April 30, 2023, the company's earnings were HK $1.692 billion, down 15.76% from a year earlier; earnings for the period attributable to shareholders were HK $49.565 million, up 24.27% from a year earlier; and basic earnings per share were HK7.44 cents, with a proposed final dividend of HK1.00 cents per share.
During the reporting period, both of the Group's two major businesses recorded decreases, with annual retail business recording segment income of HK $1.628 billion (2022: HK $1.922 billion), accounting for about 96.2% (2022: 95.7%). The division of the electronic components manufacturing business earned HK $62.926 million (2022: HK $85.735 million), accounting for about 3.7 per cent of the total revenue (2022: 4.3 per cent).
Despite a number of declines in annual earnings, management continues to improve and adjust business processes and actively control costs in order to maintain the profitability of the Group.
