The Zhitong Finance App learned that Twitter said on July 4 that limiting the number of tweets users read each day had little impact on advertisements on the platform. Earlier, Musk said that in order to prevent “extreme levels” of data scraping and system manipulation, Twitter is limiting the number of tweets that users can read.
The company said in a blog post on Tuesday: “We are temporarily limiting usage so we can detect and eliminate bad behavior from bots and other damaging platforms. Any advance notice of these actions would allow bad actors to change their behavior in order to evade investigation.”
Twitter said that updates will be provided when the work is completed. But the implementation of these restrictions — and the previous ones — drew criticism from users.
