On Saturday local time, Musk posted on social media platforms that Twitter has implemented temporary reading restrictions to address “extreme levels” of data scraping and system manipulation.
Musk said verified accounts can only read 6000 posts per day, adding that unverified accounts and new unverified accounts can only read 600 posts and 300 posts per day.
Earlier, Twitter announced that it would require users to have an account on the social media platform to view tweets. Musk called the move a “temporary emergency measure” on Friday.
Musk once said that hundreds or more organizations are “extremely active” in scraping Twitter data, affecting the user experience.
Musk had earlier expressed dissatisfaction with artificial intelligence companies such as ChatGPT owner OpenAI using Twitter data to train large-scale language models.
Twitter has previously taken a series of measures to win back advertisers who keep Twitter owned by Musk.
