Businesses around the globe are scrambling to find ways to leverage ChatGPT to improve their service and bolster their bottom line, but those already working in the area of artificial intelligence (AI) have a leg up on the competition.

At least, this is the case for ASX-listed Unith (UNT), which is working hard to integrate ChatGPT’s capabilities into its already-existing conversation AI tech.

What is ChatGPT?

While one needs to have been living under a rock to not have heard of the global phenomenon of ChatGPT, many still fail to understand its importance and its capabilities.

Essentially, the tech is designed to be a digital human with access to all the knowledge of the internet. It’s conversational, it learns on the go, and it can help with tasks from copywriting to solving complex equations to coding to writing emails.

The conversational manner of ChatGPT is more advanced than any AI bot to have come before, with the ability to ask for clarification, provide more in-depth detailed responses, and even acknowledge its personal limitations.

While chatbots have been used for decades, most of them are only capable of answering rudimentary questions on help desk pages, mostly for disgruntled customers.

But now ChatGPT has changed the game by giving businesses the ability to carry an automated conversation through multiple queries.

Talkative tech thanks to ChatGPT

In February of this year, the company completed a A$4.5 million placement to enhance its AI-based Talking Head platform. This includes the integration of ChatGPT-driven features.

The placement has accelerated Unith’s tech development, and the company has created additional roles to improve the scalability of its AI program.

According to UNT, the demand for conversational AI is growing quickly, with a global AI market size of A$9.31 billion (US$6.1 billion) in 2021 and a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 23.6 per cent.

UNITH CEO Idan Schmorak said in February the company would continue to grow its conversational AI globally.

“Interest continues to grow in conversational AI globally, and UNITH is strongly positioned at the forefront of the industry with our unique proprietary technology to benefit from this growing demand,” Mr Schmorak said.

“The company is now well-funded to continue progressing our development and commercialisation activities, which will focus on building scalability into our business model and further enhancing our technological edge.”

Businesses can use Unith’s machine learning technology to communicate visually with a personalised avatar for an immersive experience in real time.

Humanising business interactions

While ChatGPT may be every bit as conversational as the next person, Unith is looking to make artificial intelligence even more human-like through animation and voice control.

The leading digital brand’s tech has incorporated research of facial movement deep learning, audio machine education, and conversational design to generate the first customisable interactive AI avatars.

Now, by integrating ChatGPT into its software, Unith can make conversations hypersmart yet simple to understand and easy to interact with for business customers.

The Talking Head platform incorporates three pillars of one-on-one conversation, starting with a human-like digital avatar paired with a human-like voice that can then form a conversation.

The software can speak multiple languages and can be used to handle customer complaints, onboard, and educate while also recommending and upselling products.

The software is also programmed to capture valuable insights through targeted customer conversations.

What’s coming?

Testing periods are underway for the sale of Unith’s AI tech software to an un-named ‘big-five’ tech company, which purchased three licenses for the talking head platform.

UNT has also kicked off a partnership with NVISO Japan to integrate its behavioural analytics into digital humans in conversational settings for deployment into digital kiosks in Japan.

Furthermore, UNT has commenced its ChatGPT integration with the Talking Head platform and has achieved successful test outcomes from its Barcelona development team.

The integration will allow access to ChatGPT’s natural language processing model and enhances UNITH’s platform features.

Increasing the human-likeness of its AI talking head platform as a high-tech software-as-a-service (SaaS) product is the main focus of UNT as the company continues to commercialise the next generation of AI products.

It’s up to investors, then, to decide if now is the best time to start riding the wave of AI revolution.
