Citibank's (NYSE:C) Credit Card Master Trust I saw both delinquency and net charge-off rates tick up in December, as credit metrics continue their long path to more normal levels.
December's delinquency rate increased to 1.01% from 0.98% in November, according to a recent filing. That's significantly higher than the 0.81% it experienced in December 2021 but lower than 1.56% in the prepandemic month of December 2019.
The net charge-off rate barely rose to 1.34% from 1.33% in the previous month. That compares with 0.97% a year ago and 2.77% three years ago.
Loans increased during the month, with principal receivables at Dec. 27, 2021 at $25.1B compared with $24.7B at the beginning of the period.
