BeijingOctober 24, 2022/ PR Newswire /-PepsiCo announced today that it is continuing to promote its Global Agricultural Accelerator, which is holding the Agricultural Achievement (the Positive Agriculture Outcomes) Fund, funding 14 projects in 11 countries to address some of the toughest challenges facing agriculture today.

"our goal is to race against 'global warming at 1.5 degrees' and contribute as much as we can, and PepsiCo has developed a series of ambitious Pepsi initiatives, including expanding renewable agricultural practices and improving the adaptability of people in the agricultural supply chain by preparing for climate change." Rob Meyers, vice president of global sustainable agriculture at PepsiCo, said, "achieving PepsiCo's goal of protecting the planet requires new thinking and innovation from our global team, which is why we set up the Agricultural Achievement Fund to make good ideas easier to achieve."

The Orthodox Agricultural Achievement Fund, founded in 2021, provides joint investment to accelerate the development of diversified and innovative positive agricultural projects. These investments are aimed at "reducing" the "risk" of promising projects while accelerating the development of innovative technologies and methods to help expand the adoption of renewable agricultural practices.

In 2022, projects being invested in through commodities, supply chains, different time zones and different PepsiCo business units, all focused on testing new regenerative technologies or methods to help farmers build their capacity to cope with climate change, or develop new sustainable "ecological landscapes". The Agricultural Achievement Fund provides ongoing support to more than 20 different projects around the world through grants totaling more than $2.7 million in 2021 and 2022.

"with the support of the Agricultural Achievement Fund, we can participate in more work and innovation on the farm by working more closely with the global team." "this work not only helps to advance our Pepsi program in the market, but also helps to improve the lives of the farmers we work with," said Haseeb Malik, senior manager of agriculture for Africa, the Middle East and South Asia at PepsiCo.

The project being invested in the first phase of the Agricultural Achievement Fund focuses on PepsiCo's latest four-episode digital video series, "shaping our Future." In August, PepsiCo's Department of Agriculture in Greater China successfully applied for about 280000 yuan (US $40000) in positive Agricultural Achievement Fund support for the pilot mulch crop (Cover Crop) project at Shandong Linshu demonstration Farm, which will grow about 600mu (99 acres) of mulch crops. The project invites contract farm growers to visit the implementation of cover crops and share the results (cost, yield increase, next season's crop benefits from mulch crops). To demonstrate the benefits of agricultural practices to contracted farmers, other growers and local residents around demonstration farms By helping growers understand intuitively the effects of mulching crops on increasing soil organic matter, improving soil health and significantly increasing yields, thus accelerating the promotion of renewable agricultural planting patterns among growers that will bring them more income and a better life.

Holding Agriculture is one of the pillars of PepsiCo's Pepsi holding Program agenda, which aims to purchase crops and raw materials by accelerating renewable agriculture and strengthening the development of agricultural communities. Its goals include expanding renewable agriculture measures on 7 million acres by 2030, improving the lives of more than 250000 people in the agricultural supply chain and sustainably procuring 100 per cent of major raw materials.
