In continental Europe, the gainers were led by telecommunications company VEON (VEON) and brewing company Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD), which climbed 11% and 1.1% respectively. They were followed by medical device maker EDAP TMS (EDAP) and telecommunications operator Telefonica (TEF), which were up 0.6% and 0.4% respectively.
The decliners in continental Europe were led by dating app owner Spark Networks (LOV) and biotech firm Zealand Pharma (ZEAL), which fell 9.4% and 6.9% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company MorphoSys (MOR) and biotech firm BioNTech (BNTX), which lost 6.7% and 6.6% respectively.
In the UK and Ireland, the gainers were led by pharmaceutical company Avadel Pharmaceuticals (AVDL) and construction materials supplier CRH (CRH), which rose 6.1% and 1.8 respectively. They were followed by software firm Endava (DAVA) and cruise line operator Carnival Corporation (CUK), which were up 1.5% and 0.7% respectively.
The decliners in the UK and Ireland were led by biopharmaceutical companies Amarin Corporation (AMRN) and NuCana (NCNA), which dropped 4% and 3.4% respectively. They were followed by biopharmaceutical company Adaptimmune Therapeutics (ADAP) and n biotech firm Trinity Biotech (TRIB), which were down 3.3% and 2.9% respectively.
