More money in the bank for insiders who divested CN¥46m worth of Genertec Universal Medical Group Company Limited (HKG:2666) shares last year

Genertec Universal Medical Group Company Limited's (HKG:2666) stock rose 4.4% last week, but insiders who sold CN¥46m worth of stock over the last year are probably in a more advantageous position. Selling at an average price of CN¥5.71, which is higher than the current price, may have been the best move for these insiders because their investment would have been worth less now than when they sold.

While we would never suggest that investors should base their decisions solely on what the directors of a company have been doing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

In the last twelve months, the biggest single sale by an insider was when the insider, Mang Yee Chu, sold HK$46m worth of shares at a price of HK$5.71 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. The silver lining is that this sell-down took place above the latest price (HK$4.95). So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels. Mang Yee Chu was the only individual insider to sell shares in the last twelve months.
