07:30 AM EDT, 06/24/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Sempra Energy (SRE) unit San Diego Gas & Electric said Friday that it has obtained approval from the California Public Utilities Commission to build four microgrids with energy storage for the San Diego region in California.
The projects are expected to add about 39 megawatts / 180 megawatt-hours of storage capacity at four company substations. The company expects to complete the projects in the summer of 2023.
SDG&E is a San Diego-based energy company.
