Is Now The Time To Put Jiangsu Cnano Technology (SHSE:688116) On Your Watchlist?

Some have more dollars than sense, they say, so even companies that have no revenue, no profit, and a record of falling short, can easily find investors. Unfortunately, high risk investments often have little probability of ever paying off, and many investors pay a price to learn their lesson.

So if you're like me, you might be more interested in profitable, growing companies, like Jiangsu Cnano Technology (SHSE:688116). Even if the shares are fully valued today, most capitalists would recognize its profits as the demonstration of steady value generation. While a well funded company may sustain losses for years, unless its owners have an endless appetite for subsidizing the customer, it will need to generate a profit eventually, or else breathe its last breath.

How Fast Is Jiangsu Cnano Technology Growing?

As one of my mentors once told me, share price follows earnings per share (EPS). That makes EPS growth an attractive quality for any company. Who among us would not applaud Jiangsu Cnano Technology's stratospheric annual EPS growth of 44%, compound, over the last three years? Growth that fast may well be fleeting, but like a lotus blooming from a murky pond, it sparks joy for the wary stock pickers.

I like to see top-line growth as an indication that growth is sustainable, and I look for a high earnings before interest and taxation (EBIT) margin to point to a competitive moat (though some companies with low margins also have moats). Jiangsu Cnano Technology maintained stable EBIT margins over the last year, all while growing revenue 151% to CN¥1.6b. That's a real positive.

Are Jiangsu Cnano Technology Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?

We would not expect to see insiders owning a large percentage of a CN¥34b company like Jiangsu Cnano Technology. But we do take comfort from the fact that they are investors in the company. Indeed, they have a glittering mountain of wealth invested in it, currently valued at CN¥6.2b. That equates to 18% of the company, making insiders powerful and aligned with other shareholders. So it might be my imagination, but I do sense the glimmer of an opportunity.

Is Jiangsu Cnano Technology Worth Keeping An Eye On?

Jiangsu Cnano Technology's earnings per share growth have been levitating higher, like a mountain goat scaling the Alps. That EPS growth certainly has my attention, and the large insider ownership only serves to further stoke my interest. The hope is, of course, that the strong growth marks a fundamental improvement in the business economics. So yes, on this short analysis I do think it's worth considering Jiangsu Cnano Technology for a spot on your watchlist. Even so, be aware that Jiangsu Cnano Technology is showing 2 warning signs in our investment analysis , and 1 of those doesn't sit too well with us...

Although Jiangsu Cnano Technology certainly looks good to me, I would like it more if insiders were buying up shares. If you like to see insider buying, too, then this free list of growing companies that insiders are buying, could be exactly what you're looking for.
