Wednesday, the Federal Open Market Committee left the target Federal Funds Rate unchanged at 5.25%-5.50%. In a statement released just at 2PM, the committee said inflation has eased, but it can only expect to reduce the target range when they have more confidence inflation has lowered for good.

"In recent months, there has been a lack of further progress toward the Committee’s 2 percent inflation objective," the Committee said. "The Committee would be prepared to adjust the stance of monetary policy as appropriate if risks emerge that could impede the attainment of the Committee’s goals."

Fed's Jerome Powell is expected to speak before a press conference at 2:30 PM EST
