Isuzu Motors and $Cummins(CMI.US)$ say they are partnering to build a prototype medium-duty, battery-powered truck to demonstrate in North America. This truck is the first zero-emissions solution facilitated by the Isuzu Cummins Powertrain Partnership formed in May 2019 and could be a positive move in terms of business model and innovation for both companies, with beneficial environmental implications. The future of trucking is electric, given the regulatory pressure to cut emissions in transport. With aggregate scores of 73 and 64, respectively, Cummins and Isuzu rank 5th and 37th in a list of more than 300 industrial machinery and goods companies, making them strong candidates when it comes to disclosing what practices the companies have in place when addressing various key sustainability risks.
