International Consolidated Airlines Group SA said Friday that Chief Financial Officer Steve Gunning intends to stand down, and named Whitbread PLC Group Finance Director Nicholas Cadbury as his replacement.

The airline group--which owns British Airways and Iberia among others--said Mr. Cadbury joined Whitbread in 2012. He is also a nonexecutive director for Land Securities.

"I'm delighted that [Mr. Cadbury] will be joining IAG. He is a well-respected, accomplished and experienced CFO with a fantastic track record at Whitbread, Premier Farnell and Dixons Carphone," Luis Gallego said.

Whitbread said separately that the process to determine a successor to Mr. Cadbury is under way in-line with board succession planning, and that he will work with Whitbread Chief Executive Alison Brittain and the board to ensure an orderly handover.
