MicroStrategy, the listed company with the largest number of bitcoin holders in the world, disclosed on Monday that it spent about $419.9 million on 8957 bitcoins from July 1 to September 12, at an average price of $46875 each.
The company currently holds about 114042 bitcoins at a cost of $3.16 billion, or an average of $27713 each. At current prices, the company invests about $1.94 billion in Bitcoin float.
The company also disclosed Monday that it issued and sold 555179 common shares from July 1 to Sept. 12, raising about $399.9 million. All this money is used to buy bitcoin.
