TeslaA tweet from CEO Elon Musk on Sunday caught on again, with the price of one of them soaring by 1400% in 24 hours.
Musk tweeted at the end of June that he would name his new dog Floki, when a number of Floki-themed copycat coins began to appear.
Musk was on Twitter on Sunday. He posted a picture of his new firewood dog, Floki, sleeping, with a simple sentence: "Floki is home."
Musk's Twitter fans, including Dog Coin co-founder Billy Marcus, noticed the arrival of his latest pet. Marcus tweeted: "I like it."
Incredibly, Musk's tweet led to a surge in the prices of some counterfeit dog coins, just because they also have Folki in their names.

By contrast, the price of genuine dog coins has not changed much, rising only 2.82% on Sunday and down 20.72% in the past week.
Meanwhile, the price of "Baby Doge" has risen 0.76 per cent in 24 hours and has fallen 26.66 per cent in the past week.
Due to the influence of Musk and dog coin, the number of Americans keeping firewood dogs as pets is increasing. Musk also revealed on Sunday that Floki, who had just arrived home, had not yet established a friendship with his other pet dog, Marvin.
