The International Monetary Fund (IMF) suspended Afghanistan's access to IMF resources on Aug. 18 local time.
International Monetary Fund spokesman Gary Rice said: "the International Monetary Fund has always been guided by the views of the international community. At present, the international community lacks clarity in recognizing the Government of Afghanistan, so the country will not have access to SDRs or other resources of the International Monetary Fund.
