Microsoft said the new software will include design changes, provide opportunities for creators and developers through the Windows App Store, and make it easier for users to connect with communities they care about. After the launch, the software will be launched for the so-called Windows Insiders, which is contracted to test, and is likely to be widely released this fall.
Microsoft sent out an invitation to the event on Wednesday. Nadella mentioned the new version of Windows at a developer event last month.
