In his interactions with netizens on the X platform, Tesla CEO Elon Musk made a bitter mockery of the slow progress of the California high-speed rail project.
The “California High Speed Rail” official account posted on the X platform: “The Fresno River Viaduct in Madera County is one of the first high-speed rail structures built. At nearly 1,600 feet long, the high-speed train will run on the riverbed and run parallel to the BNSF Railway.”
One X user commented: “It cost $9 billion.”
In response, Musk said, “Boring can do this for less money,” referring to his tunneling company.
Another X user posted sarcastically, “It took 410 days to build the Empire State Building. But in Fresno, California, the high-speed rail bridge only took 5,840 days (16 years) to build. Please clap.”
Musk responded, “That's not a good sign.”
