Peiran Environmental Protection (08320) announced that on 20 September 2023, the company signed a non-legally binding memorandum of understanding with Hong Kong licensed bank Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited to jointly promote sustainable finance to the real estate and infrastructure industries in Asia, including ASEAN countries, China, India, Japan, South Korea and the Middle East.
According to the memorandum, the group will provide free sustainable development, climate change, carbon neutralization feasible research and technical support to customers who apply to Standard Chartered Bank for sustainable finance or other sustainable performance-linked financing. Customers can also obtain consultancy services from the Group at a preferential price to comply with the continuous reporting and monitoring required by the relevant sustainable loans.
In addition, the Group and Standard Chartered Bank will jointly organise workshops on sustainable finance in different markets, such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, where the Group or its affiliates have a business stronghold. To raise customer awareness of sustainable development and sustainable finance.
