Earlier this year, right in the middle of summer, a few friends and I headed down the South West Arm for the day. They came down in their lovely European day boat. We came in the trusty old Haines Hunter. We found a spot, rafted the two boats together and settled in for the afternoon. The plan was fairly straightforward: good weather, good company, a few beers and absolutely nowhere else we needed to be. So we’d packed accordingly. What we hadn’t packed was...

What difference did a cease-fire make? Both sides agreed on the cease-fire but both sides still bombed and attacked each other, ships, and oil facilities. That was all done DURING the ceasefire. So I ask again, what difference does it make one way or the other? I can't speak for everyone, but I am tired of hearing about the entire Iran situation. It seems like every week we get headlines that say nothing is changing or there is a peace deal but no actual peace deal. I'm just tired of the entire thing. It's total BS.

It's far from meaningless! Preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons serves the well-being of all humanity. Trump made the right call; I firmly stand behind Uncle Trump.

The U.S. stock market navigated a high-stakes, data-heavy week from August 10 through August 14, 2026. As investors digested a triple-header of macroeconomic catalysts—July’s Consumer Price Index (CPI), Producer Price Index (PPI), and Advance Retail Sales—Wall Street found itself balancing persistent inflation sticky spots with signs of a cooling consumer backdrop. With the S&P 500 (+0.36%), Morningstar US Total Market Index (+0.4...

True . but did you find it funny Feb had very once mentioned about it debt on Fomc or any speech purely on 2% inflation.

High Debt only reduces the possibility of a rate hike to near zero. There is no way the fed has the balls to raise rates when their debt has hit 40T, the momment they raise rates, their debt will compound and snowball to unimaginable levels. They would have to pay out even higher interest on current bonds as well as higher interest on future bonds. The treasury director from US literally bet that rates will fall when he issued short term bond contracts, meaning he has no choice right now but to see it through

yeah they are basing their rate policy on reducing inflation to 2%, kevin wrash is acting tough because people are saying that he is a puppet of trump. At the end of the day, he still will find some sort of excuse to cut rates but if you look at recent market activity, even when cpi, ppi, etc shows that fed hike is unlikely, we didn't see too much of a response from the bond market as T,bills yields are still quite high. US had to bail out JPY to prevent the yen carry trade from falling apart

yeah but just in my opinion, I don't believe AI is a bubble, we can see more and more adoption in AI for real enterprise usage globally including consumer usage. AI has been integrated into the lives of everyone and they will monetize just like how they monetized web, and the same way of how google gets its revenue. Through ads, and data. Love it or hate it, coporations will find a way to make AI an indispensable tool and will force it on people if they have to
