HSTI stumbled 3.4% to last at 6,565, while Nasdaq Composite inched up last night.

Almost all HSTI constituents were not immune from the plunge. TENCENT (00700.HK) nosedived 9.6% to $429.4. NTES-S (09999.HK) cascaded 14% to $135.9. BILIBILI-SW (09626.HK) slid 12% to $587.

Economic Information Daily, a Chinese newspaper speaking for the central government, commented in its article that online games have posed impact on adolescents not to be underestimated, mentioning the high concentration in game sector with Tencent Games gulping half of the market shares. The report insisted on prevention of teens' game obsession requires coordination and stricter management.
