US natgas prices turn negative in Texas again on pipe maintenance
U.S. spot natural gas prices in Texas averaged below zero for Tuesday for the fourth time this month and the 17th time since March as pipeline maintenance trapped gas in the Permian Shale in West Texas amid low demand for energy. U.S. next-day power and gas prices have turned negative several times so far this year, especially in Texas, Arizona and California. Energy traders have been saying for weeks they expected gas prices at the Waha hub in West Texas to turn negative when U.S. energy company Kinder Morgan started conducting seasonal maintenance on pipelines that move gas from the Permian shale in West Texas to the Gulf Coast.

Walmart lays off hundreds of employees and requires others to relocate
Walmart on Tuesday announced layoffs affecting several hundred jobs at the retail giant’s campus offices. It also said it will require most remote workers and personnel in its Dallas, Atlanta and Toronto offices to relocate to its primary offices in Bentonville, Arkansas; Hoboken, New Jersey; and the San Francisco Bay Area. The news, conveyed via a Walmart staff memo provided to The Associated Press, said the relocations will serve the goal of “bringing more of us together more often.”

Planemakers Airbus and Boeing need to put more pressure on their suppliers to reduce the delivery delays of new aircraft that are hindering airlines' ability to meet travel demand, Qatar Airways CEO said on Wednesday. "We are ... really trying our best to assist both Boeing and Airbus and try to find solutions for them to make sure they deliver," Badr Mohammed Al Meer said on a panel at the Qatar Economic Forum in Doha. Demand for air travel has rebounded since the pandemic, but planemakers are struggling to get back to previous production levels due to disrupted supply chains and a safety crisis at Boeing.

UPDATE 2-US says Boeing breached 2021 737 MAX criminal prosecution deal
The U.S. Justice Department said on Tuesday that Boeing Co had breached its obligations in a 2021 agreement that shielded the planemaker from criminal prosecution over fatal 737 MAX crashes in 2018 and 2019 that killed 346 people. The Justice Department said in a court filing in Texas that the U.S. planemaker had failed to "design, implement, and enforce a compliance and ethics program to prevent and detect violations of the U.S. fraud laws throughout its operations." Justice Department officials made the finding in the wake of a separate January in-flight blowout that exposed continuing safety and quality issues at Boeing.

US states sue over EEOC's policy on transgender workers
A group of Republican-led U.S. states filed a lawsuit seeking to block the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission from enforcing broad legal protections for transgender workers. The 18 states filed the complaint in federal court in Knoxville, Tennessee, late Monday. The commission last month updated its guidance on workplace harassment for the first time in 25 years, including positions that reflect a 2020 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that said discriminating against gay and transgender workers is a form of unlawful sex bias.
