Singaporean Shares Rise on Wednesday; SMI Vantage's Shares Surge 6% on Crypto Mining Machines Acquisition

Singapore Strait Times Index stayed in positive territory on Wednesday at the close, tracking overnight gains in the global markets following the release of Federal Reserve data on inflation.

During the day, the benchmark index ranged between 3,145.17 and 3,168.69, ending 0.61% or 19.25 points higher at 3,160.72.

In company news, shares of SMI Vantage (SGX:Y45) surged 6% after the company purchased 200 Bitmain S19 crypto mining machines to ramp up capacity at its containerized digital mining facility in Malaysia.

Shares of Far East Orchard (SGX:O10) closed flat on Wednesday after its unit Osborne Street Development entered into a sale and purchase agreement with Nova Osbourne for the acquisition of a plot of land located in Glasgow for about SG$5.1 million.

Shares of CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust (SGX:C38U) slipped 1%, despite the trust securing the European Central Bank as the new tenant for their jointly owned 38-story office building in Frankfurt, Galileo.
