Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first person ever to reach 600 million followers on Meta Platforms Inc's (NASDAQ:META) Instagram.
The renowned Portuguese soccer player, who serves as a forward for Al Nassr and captains the Portuguese national team, had previously reached the milestone of 500 million followers in November 2022.

Ronaldo's presence on Instagram has been marked by active engagement, resulting in a significant increase of over 150 million followers since May.
In terms of Instagram followers, Argentine soccer player Lionel Messi ranks second with 482 million followers, and singer-actor Selena Gomez holds the third spot with 427 million followers.
Other prominent individuals in the top 10 list of most-followed Instagram accounts include Kylie Jenner, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Khloe Kardashian, and Justin Bieber.
The athlete's success extends beyond social media, as he holds a considerable net worth of $500 million, according to Forbes.
Moreover, he topped Forbes' list of the highest-paid athletes in 2023, securing a Guinness World Records title for the highest annual earnings of an athlete.
