Telecom Italia CEO Resigns as Board Reviews KKR Offer

Telecom Italia SpA said late Friday that Chief Executive Officer Luigi Gubitosi resigned from his position and the telecommunications company would start to examine a takeover offer by private-equity company KKR & Co. Inc.

意大利电信(Telecom Italia Spa)上周五晚些时候说，首席执行长古比托西(Luigi Gubitosi)辞职，这家电信公司将开始审查私募股权公司KKR&Co.Inc.的收购要约。

The company said that Mr. Gubitosi also resigned as general manager of the group but he will remain a member of the board of directors.

Telecom Italia appointed Pietro Labriola as successor for the general manager mandate, and he will continue to be CEO of the group's subsidiary TIM SA, the company said.

At the same time, Telecom Italia Chairman Salvatore Rossi is taking over additional duties such as responsibilities and powers relating to Partnership & Alliances.

The shuffle at the head of the telco group comes amid KKR's offer to purchase the company and take it private. Telecom Italia on Friday said that its board of directors would start to review KKR's bid and it has set up a committee for the examination.
