Poly Network, a decentralized platform, said on Monday that "white hat" hackers had made good on their promise to return all $610 million worth of cryptocurrency assets stolen earlier this month.

The company said the so-called "white hat" hackers finally shared the key of a multi-signature encrypted wallet on Monday morning local time. "at present, all the user assets transferred in the accident have been fully recovered. With the cooperation of Mr. White Hat, Poly Network officially entered the fourth phase of the asset recovery roadmap. We are returning control of all assets to users as soon as possible. "

After the theft, one of the largest in the history of cryptocurrencies, was discovered around Aug. 10, Poly Network asked hackers to contact them to return cryptocurrencies, tokens and stable coins worth about $610 million.

The hackers then claimed that they never intended to keep the digital assets, just "for fun", and began returning the stolen assets to a shared encrypted wallet the next day. However, it is clear that hackers did not share the keys of the wallet until recently.

Poly Network said the only assets still being recovered are $33 million worth of Tether, which were frozen by Teda after the theft, and Teda is in the process of unfreezing them.
